PART TWO
After our good-byes to the Harvs we treated Shea to the St. Louis Zoo.

It was his first trip to a zoo and he absolutely loved it! The day was gorgeous - 75 degrees - and we went early. So, the animals were in complete cooperation and gave us a good show!

We watched a sea lion show. Shea was all smiles. I liked the fountain picture with Marc (despite the misspelling!)

Niki and Maddy didn't miss out on too much this day! Michele Zinnel took them to the Omaha Zoo. We had fun texting each other to see what animals they were looking at the same time. For Shea, of all the rare animals he saw, he still liked the fish the best.

It was a great way to end our almost-week-long-trip-away from Iowa! Both Marc and I are grateful for this time we spent together and with Shea. It's kind-of like we have two sets of families these days - our young ones and old ones. We were so thankful to my parents who stayed with Niki and Maddy while we were away.

I wish I had a video of Shea seeing Niki and Maddy Monday night. He just hugged and kissed and giggled them. It was really sweet. I think we all attacked each other. Our trip was wonderful but our welcome home was even more precious!

What a nice weekend you guys had after Eminence! I'm glad you guys stayed healthy to enjoy it too. :) I'm also glad Shea approved of the St. Louis Zoo (sorry about the misspelling ;) ). It's my favorite zoo still!

Your description of your reunion with your 'older' family was nice. Reunions should always be so joyous! Thanks for the post(s).

Fun post! My kids love the zoo, too--we actually love Blank zoo in DM b/c it's a quick little zoo, not too strenuous, and just the right amount of animals for my little ones and my nieces and nephews. BTW, I LOVE having 'two sets of kids'--it is THE BEST of both worlds! I have my 'big kids' who are turning into young adults and are a joy to be with, and I have my 'little ones' who are entertaining and produce an equal but different joy. So glad you're getting to have two 'sets' as well--I just couldn't be happier with how the Lord has blessed us!

I guess you guys are going to have to come back because I just showed this post to Blake and now he's asking when we're going to go back to the zoo with Marc and Ginger. Looks like a fun time; makes me wish we'd gone with you, but I think we'd sleep deprived Alexandria enough at that point.
